Glass Melting Refractories

McKeown International Inc provides a wide variety of refractory products. This includes various different qualities of fused cast Alumina-Zirconia-Silica blocks, Silica brick, high Alumina brick, Superduty Fireclay brick, basic (Magnesia and MgO-Chrome), Zircon and a complete range of insulating materials for the melting tank of the glass kiln and its regenerator. These products possess exceptional resistance to alkaline vapor attack and corrosion, have excellent high temperature strength and minimal deformation. They are designed to be chemically compatible with these critical physical properties to create a kiln lining with the most optimum performance.

Anthracite Block and Calcium Silicate Insulating Board

Anthracite Block is made from electrically calcined anthracite and other binding agents. The product has low ash content, low thermal conductivity and high hot strength. The product has accurate dimensions from precise machining process. It can be widely used in the electrolytic smelting of aluminum.

Calcium Silicate Insulating Board is a product family with three (3) grades. It has combined advantages of light weight, low thermal conductivity and high temperature resistance. Its lower shrinkage provides small deformation within working temperature range. It is recommended to be used as thermal insulation or as backing material of refractory bricks in the industrial furnaces.

Aluminum Furnace Brick – Smelting Pot Refractories

MH 70 and MH 80 are made with high calcined bauxite, and offer high density and strength. Its high refractoriness provides good performance for the brick under high temperature operations. It offers good resistance to slag attack and thermal shock. They are primarily used in the steel ladle and aluminum furnace.

MSC24 is made with high purity raw material and fired at high temperature to achieve excellent hot strength and thermal conductivity. It offers excellent resistance to oxidation and erosion/corrosion from cryolithic bath. It is ideal to be used as the refractory lining for the side wall of the aluminum smelting pot.

DSD127 is a super duty fireclay brick fired at high temperature with high density. It is manufactured by a dry press process. This product has low iron, high refractoriness and hot strength, excellent volume stability and corrosion resistance. It is ideal for use in the furnace application where high temperatures are applied for extended periods and severe chemical corrosion exists.

MI Insulating Brick

MI Insulating Brick has low thermal conductivity and low heats storage for reduced fuel consumption and efficient production. Products have high strength, low shrinkage, and good resistance to spalling. It is suitable as backup insulating lining in furnaces and heated equipment.

Periclase Chrome Brick

Chrome 50 Direct Bonded Periclase / Chrome Brick is composed of prereacted magnesia-chrome, periclase and chrome concentrates. It has excellent alkali and creep resistance, high hot strength and good chemical inertness. UltraChrome is recommended for lower checkers and super structures of glass furnace regenerators and various relining furnaces in the copper and nickel industries.

Ultra Chrome 60 Direct Bonded is a very low silica periclase / chrome brick produced from fused magnesia-chrome spinel grain, very high purity periclase and high purity chrome concentrates. It has low porosity and has excellent resistance to basic slags.

Ultra Chrome 64 is  a direct bonded, low silica periclase / chrome brick producted from very high purity periclase and high purity chrome concentrates. It has low porosity and excellent resistance to basic slags.

Ultra Chrome ML 400 is a direct bonded magnesia / chrome brick made from magnesia and chrome concentrates. It has low porosity and has excellent resistance to basic slags.
